Prosser Road Development

The principal design objectives for this 18-unit townhouse development, located in Central Saanich, were to develop a low-maintenance landscape, to reduced irrigation requirements in the long term and to manage rainwater on-site in a practical and economical fashion using landscape-based best management practices.

Murdoch de Greeff Inc. developed a design that integrated rainwater management into each unit’s landscape, by directing runoff from the development’s buildings and paved areas into rain gardens and swales throughout the site. Existing Garry Oak and Arbutus trees were protected and a small playground space with natural play elements was integrated within the development.
