The Atrium

The Atrium (800 Yates St) building is located in downtown Victoria. The building is the home of BC Ferries corporate office, among other corporate tenants (BC Land Titles). Ground floor tenants include eating establishments such as Zambri’s and Pig. The Atrium, targeting LEED™ Gold certification, is a project that has a large extensive green roof, an indoor public atrium with a bosque of olive trees, as well as the first street level rain gardens in Victoria’s downtown core. MDI was responsible for coordinating the design and construction of the green roof, the street level rain gardens and the interior plantings. We are very excited to watch the public engage with a unique, high exposure streetscape, and will be equally as excited to discover how the public responds to and interacts with other elements of the design.
