REAY CREEK REHABILITATION

The Reay Creek development is a planned residential neighbourhood that focuses on family-oriented housing in North Saanich. The comprehensive site plan includes park space, a trails network, community garden, greenway corridors, and stormwater management features. The project’s aim is to create a thriving neighbourhood that improves site conditions, embraces and restores environmental values, and contributes to the vibrancy of the local community. The stormwater management plan for the Reay Creek Meadows development project centers on the use of rain gardens to infiltrate water through soil, both cleaning runoff water and slowing runoff delivery to Reay Creek. The existing meadow area of Reay Creek Park will be enhanced with public amenities including benches, community garden plots, trails, a large rain garden complex, and planted buffer zones adjacent to the proposed and existing residential area. A shed and shade structure will be constructed within the community garden area.
