In partnership with the Vancouver School Board, the Vancouver Park Board is enhancing Killarney Park’s track and field facilities to better serve the community’s recreational and competitive needs. Guided by their Track and Field Strategy, the project transforms the existing running track into a more comprehensive, multi-use facility that supports athletes, school groups, and the broader public. 

Key improvements include:

• Expanded Sports Facilities – Upgraded track and field amenities to accommodate growing participation and provide high-quality training and recreational opportunities.

• Enhanced Public Access & Programming – Improved infrastructure to foster inclusive community use, supporting school groups, running clubs, and residents of all ages.

• Sustainable Stormwater Management – Integrated rain gardens and green infrastructure to manage runoff, enhance site ecology, and contribute to a resilient urban landscape.

This project ensures equitable access to high-quality sports facilities while promoting active lifestyles and environmental sustainability.
