Murdoch de Greeff Inc. Landscape Architects is a boutique consulting firm based in Victoria, British Columbia. We provide a full suite of design services to the public sector and to private landowners in the fields of Site Planning, Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. Foundation to the firm's design approach is investigating and managing community expectations and site opportunities and constraints - critical starting points in developing well-adapted and sustainable solutions. Registered Landscape Architect, R.P. Bio. (Principal – MDI)
Scott is a professional biologist and landscape architect with over 20 years of environmental and urban design experience. His cross disciplinary background and work experience enables him to work and communicate constructively with professionals in other disciplines. He has worked on and coordinated numerous multidisciplinary projects including stream restorations, rainwater and watershed management plans, park planning and design projects, municipal infrastructure projects and private development projects. Scott is a hands-on and collaborative project manager with the firm and speaks regularly at public engagements.
PAUL DE GREEFF
Registered Landscape Architect, (Principal – MDI)
Paul is a Registered Landscape Architect with more than 15 years of consulting and environment industry experience. He has a background in restoration ecology, site analysis and site planning, and takes an active role in design and project management with the firm. He enjoys working with multidisciplinary design teams and is an effective communicator and team builder. He speaks regularly on landscape-related issues at conferences and has been an Adjunct Professor in the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at UBC since graduating in 2003. He now teaches at the UBC Urban Forestry Program and at the UVic Restoration of Natural Systems Program. Paul has completed land planning and site design projects for public and private sector clients at a broad range of scales.

Melissa is a Registered Landscape Architect with twelve years of project experience and has been with Murdoch de Greeff Inc. since 2007. Melissa’s educational background is Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Architectural Technology. Her experience working on a wide range of projects in a multidisciplinary environment allows her to communicate effectively at all stages of project development, and she brings her strong technical skills and horticultural knowledge to the design process.
BLA (Hons), BCSLA Intern
Jonny is currently working towards becoming a registered landscape architect. He has six years post graduate experience in the field of landscape architecture and considerable practical experience in landscape construction from his home of origin - Aotearoa, New Zealand. Jonny has been an integral member of the MDI team since 2016. He consistently contributes his graphic illustration and design skills, and strong technical knowledge to deliver timely, robust solutions at all levels. Jonny is passionate about creating quality environments that encourage social interaction, increase accessibility to nature and promote the conservation of our planets' landscape systems.
Registered Landscape Architect
Tamara is passionate about creating spaces that engage people with their community and with the natural world. To explore these interests, Tamara obtained a Masters of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from UBC, as well as a Restoration of Natural Systems Diploma from UVic. She has a decade of experience in leading ecological restoration projects, specializing in grassland restoration and community-led initiatives. At MDI, Tamara uses her communication, hand drawing and technical skills to generate beautiful, practical and sustainable landscape designs.
RRP, MCIP, BCSLA Intern
Leigh is a Registered Professional Planner and holds a Maters in Landscape Architecture and a B.Sc. in Physical Geography. She has over 10 years of combined public and private sector parks planning experience and has worked on trail feasibility plans, design guidelines, public consultation, and park management plans at a variety of scales and contexts. She is passionate about connecting people with the natural environment through parks, open spaces and trail systems and believes that well designed and executed engagement programs are one of the key ingredients for project success.
Mark is a landscape architect intern with a keen interest in how communities, while being faced with cultural and ecological challenges, are attempting to remake themselves in the 21st century. During his time completing his Masters in Landscape Architecture from UBC, he pursued experiences overseas including MLA studies on rural revitalization in Denmark, and working professionally in both Germany and the Netherlands on urban renewal projects. With an enthusiasm for high level design and contextual solutions, he hopes to continue working across disciplines to engage in meaningful collaborative dialogue on regenerative landscapes.

She brings an unyieldingly positive attitude and dedication to providing reliable and efficient administrative support.
