POWER TO BE BASECAMP
4633 Prospect Lake Rd, Victoria, BC V9E 1J5, Canada
Power To Be Basecamp transforms a former golf course on Prospect Lake into an inclusive outdoor activity hub. The 78-acre site features daylighted streams, rain gardens, native plantings, and off-grid systems. Designed for accessibility and ecological resilience, the landscape integrates recreation, restoration, and community connection.
The design illustrates how landscape design can regenerate nature and foster inclusion. Ecologically, it restored hydrology, improved water quality, and increased bird species richness by 21%. Socially, it offers universally accessible experiences that reduce stress, build community, and strengthen connections to nature. Economically, it creates training and volunteer opportunities while lowering long-term costs through sustainable, off-grid systems.
