TOPAZ PARK LIGHT SCULPTURES
Topaz Park, Victoria, BC, Canada
MDI was commissioned by Vancouver based-artist, Germaine Koh to bring an innovative fusion of nature and technology to life. Using a series of custom parametric scripts, we translated the organic structures of native plants into intricate sculptural forms. These digitally generated designs were 3D-printed and seamlessly integrated into Koh’s larger sculptural installations. By night, embedded LEDs transform them into glowing beacons, casting dynamic shadows and evoking the natural rhythms that inspired their creation. The result is a striking interplay of art, ecology, and computational design, seamlessly woven into the urban landscape.
