Connor is a landscape designer with a Master of Landscape Architecture from UBC and a Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. His academic work explored relationships between people and plants in Pacific Northwest ecosystems, including how climate change affects those relationships and contributes to ecological grief. A recipient of the 2024 Frederick Gage Todd National Scholarship, Connor focuses on planting design and the creation of robust, complex plant communities. At MDI, he brings a design-led perspective to landscapes that strengthen biodiversity and deepen people's connection with place.
Connor's focus on planting design and Pacific Northwest ecologies helps MDI treat vegetation as a living system rather than a decorative layer. His understanding of human-plant relationships supports plant communities that respond to local conditions, build biodiversity and create meaningful everyday experiences. This strengthens MDI's ability to develop planting strategies that are site-adaptive, resilient and clearly connected to the character of the land.
