YARROW PLACE RAIN GARDEN

The Yarrow Place Rain Garden was constructed in 2009 by the Town of Esquimalt as part of the Craigflower Road Upgrades Project. Drainage from a significant portion of Craigflower Road was directed to Yarrow Park, which was converted from an unused vacant lot into a rain water park. Today, a walking path through the park facilitates access to the Gorge waterfront, and clean stormwater is delivered through the park to the Gorge. Several conifers and deciduous trees planted in the park are maturing and will provide excellent marine riparian habitat over time.
